It’s not the best photo but this osprey hung around our neighborhood for a few days last week. It might be the same one that came last spring–it likes to sit on the tree stumps across the cove. Ospreys are almost as big as bald eagles, and a lot more common. They are superb catchers of fish, and it’s thrilling to watch them circling over the lake, peering intently at the water, and zooming down . . .
