Fall migration begins

The hummingbird activity has picked up dramatically; by next week I expect we’ll have swarms at the feeders. We’re starting to see other travelers as well. It’s an exciting time!

It seems to be the tiniest ones that perch on the fence, maybe because they don’t get harassed the way they do when they are at the feeders.
I’m working on my hummingbird ID but am easily confused still.
Black-crested titmouse
Carolina wren
We see so many white winged doves–but I am always startled when I see how strange they look close up.
