One of the best things about living here is the bird life. I’ve seen so many new birds, both (relatively) exotic and more common. I was lucky enough to have the camera when my first canyon wren landed in front of me on the driveway.
Here is a list of what we’ve seen so far in no particular order:
- Belted kingfisher
- Northern mockingbird
- Northern cardinal
- Double crested cormorant
- Great blue heron
- Osprey
- Carolina wren
- House wren
- Canyon wren
- House sparrow
- House finch
- Lesser goldfinch
- American goldfinch
- American pelican
- Pied billed grebe
- White winged dove
- Cedar waxwing
- Rufous hummingbird
- Ruby throated hummingbird
- Black chinned hummingbird
- Carolina chickadee
- Canada goose
- Turkey vulture
- Black vulture
- Red shouldered hawk
- Eastern phoebe
- Greater roadrunner
- American robin
- Cliff swallow
- Chimney swift
- Black crested titmouse
- Verdin
