Around the lake

Maggie took Jon and me on a wonderful tour of the lake. These stone towers are just past the marina where we started out.
A flock of these tern-like birds was on the hunt for lunch, swooping and diving and catching a lot of fish. I don’t know what they are yet.
I usually think of early morning as the best time to see birds, but we saw a lot of lunchtime action.
I was trying so hard to get a photo of this osprey that I didn’t notice the white bird (tbd) down below. There were three more off to the left.
Great egret
Again–I was so busy trying to get a picture of the coots that I didn’t notice the great egret right there on the shore.
