Northern Mockingbird, the state bird of Texas. I’ve been trying to take a picture of it but it doesn’t hold still long enough. Tonight it spent some time on the fence, posing perfectly.This golden-fronted woodpecker has been a frequent visitor. Over the last week it has been making a lot of noise and flying back and forth to the trees. It’s remarkably friendly; it didn’t leave even as I fussed with arranging my camera, and talked with Mom.
